I am Stephan Tente. I spent 25 years solving problems in manufacturing-first as an engineer, then as a quality manager, and finally as a global problem solving expert and CI program manager for one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies.
I started my career as a mechanical engineer (and before that as a trained blacksmith-yes, really). I switched to logistics planning, then to quality management and finally became Lead Principal for Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement at Infineon Technologies.
Over 15 years at Infineon I led global problem solving programs, trained hundreds of engineers and managers and worked with some of the most demanding customers in the automotive sector (Bosch, Continental, Denso). I became the point of contact when problems were critical, complex or had existed for too long.
I acquired my Master Black Belt in 2022. Shortly afterwards, I was appointed official Master Trainer for the VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) and represent best practices in problem solving for the entire automotive community.
Now I’m self-employed and doing what I love best: helping people to become better problem solvers.
I have seen too many organizations struggling with the same problems over and over again. Not because people are not intelligent or do not care, but because they have not learned systematic problem-solving methods.
When teams learn to properly define problems, dig for root causes and implement real preventative measures, everything changes. Quality improves. Customer satisfaction increases. People feel more capable and self-confident.
That’s what drives me-helping people have that “aha moment” when they finally understand how to get to the root of a problem.
I am also a certified yoga teacher (RYT200) and mindfulness trainer. This may seem unrelated to solving the problem, but it is not. Both require focus, patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure-skills that serve me well when coaching teams through difficult challenges.
I live in Munich with my family. When I’m not training or coaching, you can find me with my dog in the forest, running, cycling or even hunting.
